The focus of this film is the lead-up to the Irish Civil War of 1922 and the complexities of Ireland’s struggle for independence at a grass-roots level. Munky were asked to do something about the bright pink house with double-glazing and muliple doorbell array on the right of frame! The shot was dolly/handheld and required tracking, rotoscoping, colour grading and compositing of forground action. Loach was so enamoured with the digital process that he is talking about doing a big budget sci-fi thiller set in post apocolyptic Manchester…maybe.
